Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park is an oasis in a very busy Key Largo area. Many rare and unusual plants and animals call this place home, attracting a variety of park guests like birders, photographers, and families enjoying a bike ride through the forest.

Portions of the full loop trail are underwater during high tide events. While the trail is still passable, the water on the trail deters many of our park visitors from experiencing the full trail experience.

Proposed in the park’s management plan is the construction of a boardwalk over the section of trail that frequently floods.
